Online Therapy

What is online therapy?

Wholeness in Bloom is an online therapy practice offering psychotherapy via video or phone. Online therapy, also known as teletherapy, follows a similar format to in-person therapy but without the commute. Clients have the freedom to choose where they want to be during their session, often choosing a quiet, private, distraction free space in their home, office, car, or even local park.

Do I need therapy?

Honestly, if you’re asking that question, the answer is probably yes. Not because something is wrong with you, but because you may be dealing with some challenges or overwhelming thoughts and feelings that you’re having a hard time managing on your own. In the end, it’s up to you to decide if counseling is the right choice for you. Having a safe and open space to talk about what you’re experiencing may be just what you need to get a step closer to resolving your issues.

How do I get started?

Getting started is easy. You’ll start with booking a free consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly talk about what’s bringing you to therapy. You’ll have a chance to ask questions and we’ll decide if working together will be a good fit. Ready to get started?

How do I prepare for the first session?

There are no major things to do to prepare. If you have notes about what you want to talk about, feel free to bring those. You can also email those to me ahead of time. We’ll take a few minutes at the beginning of the session to make sure our systems are working properly. You’ll actually receive a video link to the session through email or text prior to the sessions start time.

How long is the online therapy session?

A session typically lasts 50 minutes.

How long will I need therapy?

Clients are initially asked to commit to 12 weekly sessions.  Throughout the 12 weeks, we will explore the challenges that brought you to therapy and together focus on finding the best path towards a resolution. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take for you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place. Periodically, we will discuss your progress and if continuing with therapy will be helpful for you based on where you are in your therapeutic journey. Ultimately, when it’s time to end therapy, I want you to feel confident that you are able to handle different challenges that may come your way.

Is online therapy confidential and secure?

That’s a yes. The platform used is HIPAA compliant which ensures that your information is kept private and secure.
